Popular Automobile Company, Ford has announced the Recall of over 90,000 models with the Eco boost Engine
. The Recall is coming due to a potential Engine failure of the models. Also affected are some of the Lincolns. The affected vehicles are the 2021 and 2022 models. The Ford cars affected are; the Bronco, the F-150, the Explorer and the Edge. The list of Lincolns affected are the Aviator and Nautilus.
The highest number of Recall is for the F-150 model, followed by the Bronco and Explorer.
Investigations by Ford which began since 2022 after series of incidence of Engine failure, revealed that the damage was caused by engine intake valves that fractured and fell into the combustion chamber.
This could be attributed to poor standard of materials used which was not up to the required specifications.
Ford has instructed dealers to inspect each model of the vehicles to determine their cumulative number of engine cycles, engines that fails this inspection would be replaced. Also there is a reimbursement plan for vehicle owners that paid for the repair of their cars.
Dealers are to be notified on the 30th of September, while letters would be sent to all affected owners as from 7th October
