HOW TO KEEP YOUR CAR SMELLING FRESH

 

Making your Car clean is not only about having a spotless exterior and

interior, it also includes having a nice smell. It doesn't matter if the car is for personal or commercial purpose, no one feels comfortable in a Vehicle that has an offensive smell. 

Here are few tips to make sure your Car smell good at all time. 

1. Clean the Car regularly: 

Accumulated dirt and debris in the Car can cause unpleasant smell later in the future. Regularly cleaning the Car, prevents such. Pay attention to the floor mats, seats and crevices. Wipe surfaces to remove stains and spills. 

2. Clean Air Vents: 

Dirty Air vents is one of the cause of odor in Cars, this is because dirt and dust accumulate there which gives off bad smell when air passes through it. Clean the Vents regularly with a cotton swab or soft sponge. 

3. Remove Trash Promptly: 

All Food wrappers, empty bottles  and other wastes should never be allowed to accumulate in the Car. Dispose all garbage as quick as possible to avoid them smelling. 

4. Consider having an Air freshener: 

Air Fresheners provide pleasant scents in Cars, they also eliminate odors. Air Fresheners comes in different forms, some can be hung or place in vents, while others can be placed under Car seats.

5. Keep the Car dry always: 

Moisture in the Car can cause mold growth which causes unpleasant smell. Ensure the Car is dry at all times by wiping off wet floor mats and other surfaces. Always moisture absorbing agents such as silica gel. 

6. Clean spills Promptly: 

If spills occur, ensure it is cleaned immediately. This is to avoid any stain and odor from setting in. 

7. Use Baking Soda: 

Baking Soda are known for eliminating smells from car.  Sprinkle Baking soda on Fabric surfaces and allow to stay overnight and then clean the next day. Alternatively an open box of Baking soda can be placed overnight inside the car to absorb any odor. 

8. Ventilate Regularly: 

Keep the windows open periodically to allow fresh air into the Car, and remove stale Air. This aid in preventing odor from getting trapped inside the Car.

9. Freshen up the Upholstery: 

The Car's Upholstery can accumulate dirt which can cause unpleasant smell. Periodically clean the Upholstery to avoid such from occurring.

If you lack the time, you can consider hiring an Auto detailer. Auto detailing involves the use of special equipment and chemicals to remove dirt and odor from the Car. This not only helps to eliminate and prevent odor, it also maintains the value of the Car. 

11. Avoid smoking in the Car: 

Smoking inside the Car can cause unpleasant sell overtime. If you smoke or have any one that does such, ensure that it is done outside the Car rather than inside.

13. Avoid Transporting Items with Bad smell: 

Refrain from Transporting Items with offensive odor, such as food containers with pungent smell, Pet carriers among others without proper ventilation.

The Air conditioning system can be a good place for bacteria and mold to inhabit. These cause unpleasant smell in the Car. Spray a disinfectant into the Air vent, this will help to eliminate any bacteria. 

15. Use Essential Oils: 

Essential oil provide nice fragrance to the Car when they are poured. Consider adding a few drops and notice how nice your Car would smell
