KIA RECALLS TELLURIDE SUV OVER FIRE RISK

 


KIA is recalling the Telluride SUV due to a risk of fire

. It has been revealed that about 462,869 cars would be affected by this recall. 

The issue leading to the recall is an error with the power seat control switch. If an external force hits the front seat cover, the may become misalign making the motor to continue working without control. This can cause the motor to overheat risking a fire outburst. 

Seven incidents have been reported relating to the problem although no crash or casualty have been reported. 

All affected Car owners would be notified via email to bring their vehicles to the nearest KIA dealer shop. 

The power seats are to be re-enforced and new brackets would be fixed for free. 

Aside these, the slide knob of the power seats are to be replaced with a newer version. 

The manufacturers are requesting that the cars are parked away from other vehicles until the recall is completed.
